A Message from Your Principal
Dear Pirate Families,

We are excited to share that beginning this month, we will combine our elementary and middle school updates into one unified K–8 newsletter. This helps ensure all families stay connected, informed, and engaged as one Pasco community. We can’t wait to strengthen the bridge between both campuses!

🏴‍☠️ NEW Pasco K–8 Logo Reveal Coming Soon!

We are thrilled to announce that our new K–8 Pirate logo will be revealed this month! Thank you for your excitement and support as we continue building a strong, unified school identity

🏀 March Madness Begins for ALL Pirates!

We are launching two exciting March Madness academic competitions—one for our elementary Pirates and one for our middle school Pirates. Both encourage hard work, skill-building, and a whole lot of Pirate pride!

📚 Elementary March Madness (Grades 2–5)

Our 2nd Annual March Madness is underway! Homerooms compete in a bracket‑style contest as students earn up to 2 points weekly (1 for reading, 1 for math) by scoring 80% or higher on:

a teacher‑assigned i‑Ready lesson
a standards mastery assessment
a WIN/DI quiz
Each passing score earns a basketball ticket for their homeroom’s hoop, and students will still receive individual i‑Ready prizes.

Important Dates:

Sweet Sixteen (Mar 2–6): Popsicle Party
Elite Eight (Mar 9–13): Ice Cream Float & Bracelet
Final Four (Mar 16–20): Treat‑Filled Water Bottles
Championship (Mar 23–27): Class Pizza Party
We loved seeing both campuses come together at Friday’s K–8 Pep Rally!

🌊 Middle School March Math Madness (Grades 6–8)

Middle school math students will compete on our IXL Leaderboard, earning points for demonstrating proficiency on their math skills practice. Each week, the top‑scoring class will earn fun incentives!

Students complete most practice during 4th period, and we are reminding students that AI tools may not be used to generate answers.

Encourage your child to practice at home—every skill mastered helps their class rise on the leaderboard!

🏃‍♂️ Middle School Athletics Update

Track tryouts begin soon for our middle school athletes! We’re excited to support our students in both academics and athletics as we finish Quarter 3 strong.

Warmly,
Dr. Rudolph-Fladd
